Who are these guys?
-
We are brothers. For ten days out of the year we are the same age. One is a business coach, the other an artist. One was a forester, the other studied theology. One still has kids at home, the other is an empty nester with grandkids nearby. One is an outdoorsman, the other likes to make things with his hands. Both of us like to teach. Both of us are curious. Both of us recognize we don’t have it all figured out. We are Christians, pastor’s sons, husbands, and fathers.
We had this idea that sharpening ourselves for daily challenges is necessary if we desire to serve others in whatever we do. We don’t always succeed. Often the edge is worn down. It can take a lot of work to get it back to where it can be useful. But that is the task. It’s that little bit of wisdom we want to share by offering a way to do it – to sharpen up - through supporting worthwhile causes with that first cup of the day. It’s a time of preparation. It may be for real giant slaying. But more likely it’s the ordinary challenges, things we encounter every day, where we can have the most impact. These are the things we were meant for, as men, driven to be more intentional, more thoughtful, more deliberate, and more willing to involve
ourselves in serving others.
